Local youth combine photography and writing at Museum exhibition

An exhibition of photographs taken by talented local youth will be showing at the National Museum of Vanuatu from 1-10 November. All the photos were taken by youth participating in a photography workshop run at Wan Smolbag Yut Senta. Using digital cameras, the youth snapped everything from self-portraits to action shots in their communities. They then created writing to complement the images. The result is an impressive display of photographs and text that capture their lives, friends, interests and concerns. The young photographers named their exhibition ‘Ol Tingting Blong Ol Yangfala’.

The public is welcome to attend the opening reception of Ol Tingting Blong Ol Yangfala on Thursday 1 November at 5:00pm at the National Museum. All photos will be for sale with proceeds going back to the artists. This workshop, run by Wan Smolbag Yut Senta, was made possible by the generous support of Leith Campbell of Top Shots in Port Vila, as well as Wan Smolbag core sponsors AusAID and NZAID.
