Vanuatu singers touring Europe

Vanuatu singers touring Europe-Main

For the first time in the history of Vanuatu, local singers are the stars of an international album release and are touring France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Canada, England and Italy in support of the album.

The band and album named 'The Sunshiners’ is a collaboration between French musicians and Vanuatu lead singers George Iaviniau (of Naio band), John Thomas (of Krossrod band), Jake Moses (of XX Squad band and Torotua Stringband) and Ben Siro (of Huarere band). The album is produced by Lachimiz Productions, an independent production in Paris, and is being marketed and distributed by Sony. The album features Vanuatu's best reggae vocal talents being backed by professional musicians from Paris doing covers of famous pop standards.

The Vanuatu singers are due to tour Europe for 4 months. The promotion of the tour focuses on the talent of the Vanuatu singers and highlights the culture of the country which is virtually unheard of and unknown in Europe.

A lot of hope is being placed by Vanuatu's budding music industry on the album and the tour, which herald a new phase in the development of the industry and provides hope and motivation for young aspiring musicians all over Vanuatu.
