Headlining will be “The Black Seeds” from Aotearoa, "The Whitehouse" from Sydney, South American folk group “Inka Marka” from Melbourne, "Jazz Quartet de Noumea" from New Caledonia and "The Unique Family" from the Solomon Islands

Vanlal hail from Van Melang Eria, Central Pentecost. They first appeared as the surprise packet of Fest’Napuan 2004 in which they stunned the audience with a powerful on-stage presence including traditionally dressed dancers and an energetic performance. Their first album is called “Vanbibi” and has some tracks in the language of Central Pentecost.

Launch of completed string band music preservation project

The National Film and Sound Archive of the Vanuatu Cultural Centre has been undertaking a project to digitally preserve the string band and other music recordings made by Paul Gardissat in the late 1970s, the 1980s and the 1990s. This project is now complete.
